National Governing Bodies of sport (NGBs) play a critical role in staging an Olympic Games. While there has been a great deal of discussion about the impacts and legacies of the Games, NGBs' engagement with the Olympic Games represents an under-explored topic. This is the first conference of its kind to debate how NGBs have leveraged the Olympic Games to build their organisational capacity. Speakers include prominent figures from the sport industry and academia including Sir Craig Reedie, Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee, Tim Hollingsworth, CEO British Paralympic Association, Sergey Evseev–Head of Science & Education Department, Russian Ministry of Sport, Professor Simon Shibli, Director, Sports Industry Research Centre, Sheffield Hallam and others.
