  The Conference focused on the past, the present and the future possibilities and potential of strong Russian-Indian ties, which "span the spectrum from Culture to Derence (Sanskriti se Suraksha)", and explore different kind of relations between the two countries to take this dimention of the relationship forvard. The presented papers focused on the following subjects: Relevance of Indological studies in the present world, cultural relations of the two countries and development, problems and prospects of Indological studies in Russia with a stress on ideas and emotions which connect Russia and India (history, philology, religion etc.)
