  MCS11 is the eleventh symposium in a series on combustion and related topics, the Mediterranean Combustion Symposia, held by the scientific communities from countries around the Mediterranean. Previous symposia were: •MCS1: Antalya, Turkey, June 1999 •MCS2: Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, January 2002, •MCS3: Marrakech, Morocco, June 2003 •MCS4: Lisbon, Portugal, October 2005 •MCS5: Monastir, Tunisia, September 2007 •MCS6: Corsica, France, June 2009 •MCS7: Chia Laguna, Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, September 2011 •MCS8: Cesme, Turkey, September 2013 •MCS9: Rhodes, Greece, June 2015 •MCS10: Naples, Italy, September 2017 The Symposium has grown over the years, becoming an important conference on Combustion. The quality of many of the accepted papers is considered to be the same as in the top combustion journals.
