  The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) organised the Consultation on Regional Dilemmas and Humanitarian Challenges in Border Areas of Syria. The three sessions of the Consultation are focused on: • Overview of the current situation and challenges faced by people inside Syria and in the concerned countries around • Protracted regional challenges vs. the spillover consequences in bordering countries affecting Syria and beyond • Role of States and humanitarian organizations in ensuring assistance and protection to refugees from Syria in the neighboring countries The Consultation is conducted in accordance with the Chatham House Rule (participants to the Consultation are allowed to use all the information presented and comments made during the event without attribution).
