  The Scientific Council on Earth Cryology, Russian Academy of Science and Earth Cryosphere Institute organise the International Conference "Earth Cryology: XXI century”. The history of permafrost conferences in Pushchino was started in 1991 under the initiative of David Gilichinsky, and revival of this meeting is a contribution to his memory… The main topics of the conference are: Mountain and volcanic permafrost Subsea permafrost Subglacial permafrost Permafrost on the other planets Permafrost processes Permafrost modelling and mapping Permafrost engineering, constructions on frozen ground Permafrost microbiology and astrobiology Permafrost dating and paleoreconstructions Permafrost-affected soils and biosystems Permafrost biogeochemistry Permafrost hydrology and hydrogeology Permafrost warming and thawing, long-term monitoring Permafrost and trace gas exchanges Several roundtables are organized: Antarctic permafrost and soils (ANPAS), TSP, CALM, Antarctic and mountain permafrost, palaeoreconstructions, PYRN.
