  This is part of a biannual series of conferences which started in the 1970s. For the 2011 year symposium held in Strasbourg (France), over 250 participants from all over the world had arrived, with 8 plenary lectures, 8 invited lectures, and 42 contributed talks. The Symposium also had two poster sessions. The Symposium was jointly organised by the Universities of Strasbourg (France) and Münster (Germany).
