We consider the zone control problem for the wave equation. Control functions must be chosen to reach a given target at the given final moment. To solve these control problems and dual zone observation problems numerically we apply variational method coupled with finite-difference approximations. For its implementation some necessary explicit estimations for the generalized solutions to the dual observation problems were obtained in the classes of conjugate smoothness. These estimations complement the known existence results. Computational algorithms outworking approximate solutions to both dual control and observation problems are described. Their strong convergence in the dual Hilbert norms is proved.
