Geochemical ecology of plants - one of the directions of biogeochemistry and general ecology, has developed as a complex discipline covering various manifestations of plant life at the molecular, organismic, population and biocenotic levels. The main problem of geochemical ecology of plants is to clarify the laws of mosaic phytosphere and the role of plant communities in the formation and change of the geochemical environment of life. The problems of geochemical ecology of plants along with traditional research of biogeochemical provinces and chemical elemental composition include the issues of spatial change in the time of vegetation cover in general and its individual components in terms of technogenesis - to clarify the mechanisms and the degree of resistance of natural phytoecosystems and individual plant to anthropogenic loads of man-made origin. In the study of the geochemical ecology of plants, the main attention is focused on the nature of the accumulation of chemical elements in the system: soil - plant, determining the coefficient of biological absorption (Kb), species diversity, morphological changes of plants, the mechanisms of plant resistance to chemical compounds, as well as the antagonism of macro - and trace elements. Practical applications of geochemical ecology of plants are implemented in biogeochemical exploration, remediation of soils, extraction of rare elements, bioindication, phytotechnologies of drug production, CO2 utilization and indication of the consequences of a number of disasters and accidents. The data on the characteristics of concentration of chemical elements of not only individual plants, but also the environmental teams, as well as the problem of the metal resistant of the plants and the mechanisms regulating it within the homeostasis of the individual plant communities are of interest. In general, the geochemical role of plants in the migration of chemical elements in the biosphere is extremely important for maintaining the state of organization and relative homeostasis of the biosphere taxons.
