The investigation was carried out at the mercury dropping electrode in 10-2M solutions NaCl, Kcl and CsCl with and without additions of 1-hydroxyadamantane (1-AdOH) and thymine. It was established that the currents of persulfate anion electroreduction on condensed layer of 1-AdOH are the values of about some nA. It was shown that “cationic” effects in this case are not distinguished. According to quantum-mechanical notion the length of tunneling influences very strong on the electron transfer rate. For this reason we have carried out the following experiments with thymine adsorbed layer with less thickness in comparing 1-AdOH ( 0.72nm for condensed layer of 1-AdOH, 0.55nm and 0.24 nm for two forms of thymine condensed layer accordingly). It was established, that the currents of persulfate anion electroreduction in the presence of condensed thymine layer are essentially larger than in the case of 1-AdOH adsorption. In this case it is possible to observe effects of cations. These results suggest that the accelerating effect, exerted by the supporting electrolyte cations on the persulfate anion electroreduction strengthens in the row Na+  K+  Cs+ . The effects manifests itself for the both forms of condensed thymine layers but they are less pronounced as compared with the plain supporting electrolyte solutions. The effects of a decrease in the current of S2O82- electroreduction on a condensed thymine layer with increasing themperature was found. By its nature this phenomenon is similar to that observed in supporting electrolytes free of SAOS and can be explained by the different effect the temperature exerts on the stability constants of ionic pairs. Using Gamov’s equation some calculations were made for estimation of the height of potential barrier for electron transfer and reorganisation energy values for systems under study.
