The global distribution of the ³He content on the surface of the Moon has been mapped with a modified method of TiO2 abundance estimation and has been applied to M³ high-resolution observations for the first time. Regions of highest ³He content and, respectively, highest TiO2 content on the Moon are located mainly near the edges of nearside maria. The craters Riccioli and Grimaldi were selected as the most promising candidate landing sites. Detailed high-resolution studies of topography and slope distribution favor the possibility of safe soft landing in these regions. The obtained ³He and TiO2 content at these candidate landing sites can be verified by in situ measurements from lunar rovers. The proposed most promising sites of highest ³He content can be further studied by the LUTI camera of the upcoming Korean Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO).
