We consider the problem of motion for a space station tethered to an asteroid. The physical model for such system can be described as a pendulum attached to a rotating body of an arbitrary shape. Analysis of equations of motion allow one to examine the conditions for tether tightness, and discuss the achieving and leaving this constraint. In a more general problem of motion for two bodies of comparable masses, the conditions of existence and stability for stationary motions are examined.
