On May 2, 2020, Yang Jiemian, director of the Academic Committee of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies and chairman of the Shanghai Institute of International Relations, presided over the seventh of a series of seminars on international relations in the post-epidemic period. The theme of this video conference was "The New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic Impact on the world order and relations between great powers." Chinese participants include: Chen Dongxiao, Dean of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, and Jiang Lixiao, an assistant researcher at the Institute of Comparative Politics and Public Policy of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies. The Russian participants were Yakunin, a senior adviser to President Putin and the founder of the "Civilization Dialogue" World Public Forum. Participants on both sides believed that the current new pneumonia outbreak severely impacted the relations between contemporary powers, emphasized the need to strengthen international cooperation to fight against the epidemic, and began to explore the guiding ideology and basic direction of reforming and building a global order.
