Spectral analysis of averaged N100 reveals in 0-100 ms time window evoked gamma oscillations in 30-75 Hz frequency band. Fine (1 Hz) filtering of gamma oscillations shows their discrete frequency structure. Computation of equivalent dipoles for the discrete frequencies demonstrate their localizations in separate areas depended on direction of attention. Under active attention dipoles are found not only in the specific auditory cortex but also in the frontal area. In might be assumed that discrete gamma frequencies represent the activation of the separate pacemaker neurons phase-locked by regular sound stimulation.
