Environmental Portrait of Russian Cities It is presented a generalized set of indicators for assessing ecological status of Russian cities exemplified by air pollution. A comparative analysis of indicators and indices of anthropogenic impact based on estimates of power, structure and technological characteristics of pollution sources, environmental sustainability, etc. is carried out There are defined the factors forming ecological situation, the typology of cities by level, nature, main sources of impact as well as the predominant factors of pollution, which are necessary to develop the strat- egy of ecological rehabilitation of Russian cities.
