Аннотация доклада:
Temporal organization of speech that is due to participants' interaction in natural discourse is based on Santa Barbara's corpus of spoken American English. Correlation analysis provides evidence of a negative correlation between the total turn length and the number of overlaps and interruptions; between turn length and the length of overlaps and interruptions. Gender differences are significant: women speak longer, while men overlap and interrupt more often.
