The main results of the field works at the period 2011-2014: 1) There are positive temperature depth interval in sediments, which formed during a summer period and under the influence of the Lena river run-off. This interval exist in Buor-Khaya Bay for the area with water depth in interval about 2-10 m. 2) Modern temperature field in studied area is result of temperature changing during the last 4-5 thousand years due to thermal erosion of coasts and thawing and heating of the upper horizons of shelf sediments. 3) There is negative gradient of the temperature in the upper 30-50 m of bottom deposits up to now and we can assume that in western part of the Buor-Khaya Bay we can find permafrost table on the depth about 100-150 m under the bottom surface. 4) Modern temperature regime and sediment salinity lead to layered permafrost structure with alternation of cryotic, frozen and thawed horizons.
