The experimental investigation of AO interaction in high-resistivity monocrystalline germanium was performed employing monochromatic THz radiation (140 microns) of the free electron laser in Novosibirsk. The measured value of absorption coefficient was found to be a=(0.75+/-0.02) cm-1. The measured efficiency of AO diffraction turned to be about 0.01% per 1 W of employed electrical power. Dependence of the Bragg angle on the sound frequency F was measured within -3 dB level of deflected light intensity where F varied from 25 to 39 MHz. The maximal number of resolvable spots during the diffraction was equal to N=7.5. Therefore the AO deflection of THz radiation was done for the first time during the carried out experiment.
