We live in the conditions of globalization, which we cannot abolish. But we can and must fight against its negative consequences and take advantage of its many benefits. We can do this because our lives, including health care and the state of the environment, depend on appropriate policies and people's behavior. Then the main lesson that follows from the current situation is that both individual countries and humanity as a whole need to take the modern global world with all seriousness and knowledge. At the same time, we must adequately assess our limited possibilities to change this world at our will and direct our efforts to solving the most pressing and primary problems: eliminating war and preserving peace on the planet; overcoming poverty and caring for people's health; ensuring the availability of education, etc. Since the global pandemic is closely related to other global problems, the exacerbation of one of these problems directly or indirectly exacerbates others. This means that in addition to the coronavirus, humanity is threatened by many other real dangers associated with the coronavirus. But we have not crossed a dangerous line yet, and the best thing that can be done in such a situation is not to lose optimism and look for acceptable solutions. In such a situation, which is largely characterized by uncertainty, the main thing is not to take abrupt, ill-considered steps at all levels, seek joint solutions and make compromises. Our planet has become too "small" and one rash action can create a chain reaction of large-scale destructive consequences. That is why we need a policy of pragmatism, a policy of "small steps" towards living together on our common planet.
