Over the past few decades, there has been a great deal of interest in the aqueous self-assembly of surfactant molecules into giant wormlike micelles (WLMs). These cylindrical aggregates undergo reversible breakdown processes and in favorable cases can grow up to few tens of micrometers that is comparable with the length of high molecular weight polymer. In the presence research it was demonstrates that addition of a small amount of anionic surfactant to long-tailed zwitterionic surfactant induces the formation of giant long-lived WLMs at relatively low surfactant concentrations. In the present system, the “unbreakable” chains are so long that they entangle with each other at low surfactant concentration and form a network with pronounced elastic properties. The viscoelastic properties of the mixed wormlike micelles were reinforced by nanoclay particles. They were incorporated in network as physical cross-links due to nanoparticles-wormlike junctions via fusion end-caps on particles surface. The feature of the research is long-lived wormlike micelles composed synergetic mixture of the surfactants and extremely responsive properties of self-assembled system.
