Metastatic breast cancer (BC) is an aggressive cancer with poor prognosis. Metastatic potential of BC is mainly associated with the failure of cell adhesion and loss of cell junctions. Metastatic BC is characterized by low expression of E-cadherin, key molecule of cell adhesion. Anti-emetic compound Emetin demonstrates anti-cancer activity in solid cancers. In particular, it induces apoptosis and suppress proliferation, migration of BC cells as well as formation of BC spheroids. The aim of the presented study was to evaluate the effect of Emetin of signaling involved in BC metastasis.
