Wе present an analysis of functional states as a criterion of psychological risks in the professional activities of FIFO personnel at diamond mining enterprises in the Far North. A review of modern scientific research devoted to the psychological risks and psychological safety assessment of workers in the diamond mining industry is carried out. The systematization of our own empirical studies at these industrial facilities for six years has been carried out. The requirements for the personal qualities of workers are analyzed, contributing to their more successful adaptation and greater job performance for the FIFO work method in the Far North. The key motives and value orientations of various departments and professional groups employees (drivers, controllers, engineers and technicians, maintenance) are identified and described. The motivation measures of FIFO personnel, contributing to their greater satisfaction with work, have been analyzed. The role of the room for psychological unloading for personnel is shown as one of the activities that contribute to maintaining the functional states optimal level of workers.
