Currently, the pretentiousness of metabiotics for medicines takes Class (level) I (A) for a number of preparations in the view of evidence-based medicine. However, when manufacturers use free rotation of starter cultures and strains, such evidence cannot be acquired in the composition of fermented products due to the strain-specific metabiotic, in particular, antibiotic properties of culture metabolites. Aim of this research was to evaluate the antibiotic properties of cultures of the Russian collections. The object of the research is live cultures of probiotic cells and their metabolite extracts as well as live test cultures of conditionally pathogenic technically harmful microorganisms, in relation to which antagonism has been determined. Seven strains of Lactobacillus acidophilus obtained from biofactories in Moscow and Uglich (Russia), test cultures and commercial preparations of antibiotics have been taken as the material for the research. The tests have been carried out by diffusion into an agar medium inoculated with test cultures.
