Here we studied the efficiency of energy transfer to the emission centers in solid solutions of (LuxY1-x)BO3:Eu3+ and ZnxMg1-xWO4. The enhancement of the light output under X-ray irradiation has been detected for the both sets of solid solutions. Influence of some of the masking effects mentioned above is discussed for (LuxY1-x)BO3:Eu3+. Solid solutions of ZnxMg1-xWO4 are free from the mentioned disadvantages. From the analysis of the luminescence excitation spectra in UV-VUV energy region follows that the energy transfer efficiency to the emission centers increase for the intermediate values of x. The effect is connected with the decrease of charge carriers thermalization length. Presented results allow to consider ZnxMg1-xWO4 as a new and perspective scintillating material.
