The report focuses on Dutch phraseological units that include a zoo-component. The material is selected on the basis of animalistic content and classified semantically and structurally. Further, the conceptual fields of animals in the Dutch language are identified and analyzed in terms of their relevance to the Dutch phraseological picture of the world and specificity for the Dutch culture. The report contains illustrative examples of relevant phraseological units compared with other languages phraseology.
