Spatially resolved emission spectroscopy is used for study of properties of near-electrode region of nitrogen electrode microwave discharge (EMD). Plasma density and electric field strength are defined from coronal model analysis of emission of 2+ system of nitrogen and 1- system of nitrogen molecular ion. The excitation temperature on the first vibrational level of excited state and vibrational distributions of excited state are measured in the near-electrode region of EMD. Results confirm the assumption that EMD consists of two strongly coupled regions of overcritical near electrode self-maintained discharge and under-critical non--self-maintained discharge (spherical part of EMD).
