Strict and detailed thermodynamic description of the water – neodymium nitrate, water – samarium nitrate, water – TBP – nitric acid – neodymium nitrate, water – TBP – nitric acid – samarium nitrate and water – TBP – nitric acid – neodymium nitrate – samarium nitrate systems was obtained in this work. This thermodynamic model allows calculating the distribution coefficient of neodymium and samarium nitrates as a function of concentration or acidity in the quinary extraction system. Suggested model is a good basis for the development of the separation process of light and middle rare earth elements nitrates.
