Nanocrystalline metal oxides due to their unique properties, one of which is a large specific area(from tens to hundreds of square meters per gram of substance depending on the synthesis method),are actively used to create various devices, such as solar cells, sensors for monitoring the state of theenvironment, photocatalysts for conversion of carbon dioxide to energy-intensive hydrocarboncompounds, photocatalytic filters for purifying air and water from toxic impurities . Titania isvery important material because it is used in all of the devices listed above. Note that duringphotocatalysis on the TiO2 surface organic substances (including toxic ones), as well as viruses andbacteria that come into contact with it, decompose into simple components - carbon dioxide and water. One of the promising areas is the development of photocatalysts that operate in the visible rangeof the spectrum and have a prolonged catalytic activity, i.e. continuing even after the light is turnedoff. For this purpose, metal oxides are doped with various elements - non-metals and metals or createnanoheterostructures. It is known that defects in semiconductor metal oxides play an importantrole in the physicochemical processes that take place in these materials: they are centers for trappingcharge carriers, provide impurity absorption, and participate in redox reactions. Nanotubes TiO2 isa promising material for CO2 conversion into hydrocarbon fuel precursors. Therefore the goal ofour work to obtain the nanostructured TiO2/Cu composites and study their structural, optical andelectron properties.
