When describing diachronic evolution of Western Indo-Aryan languages, most authors consider primarily the marking of semo-syntactic primitives S, A, O (Butt 2001, Stump 1983, Klaiman 1991 etc.). This paper attempts to analyze the typological development of Western Indo-Aryan languages from the other point of view: whether the morphological and syntactic evolution of Western Modern Indian languages was unidirectional or multidirectional.
