Contact problem for sliding periodic system of asperities and viscoelastic half-space with a coating, which is modelled by rigid layer with ability to bend, is formulated and solved. The solution is based on reducing the problem to the contact of a limited system of asperities with the action of the remaining ones being replaced by distributed pressure. The error of such a replacement is evaluated. The numerical-analytical method of solution is based on double integral Fourier transforms, the boundary element method and the iterative procedure. It is obtained that the shape of asperities, sliding velocity, and the coating thickness determine the effect of the mutual influence in multiple contact, as well as the deformation component of friction force, contact and internal stresses.
