Radiation induced transformations of simple molecules (such as H2O, CO2, CH4, nitrogen and sulphur oxides, etc.) as well as their multimers and complexes are of basic interest for atmospheric and interstellar chemistry. Various metastable ions and radicals could be produced in such processes, and understanding of mechanisms of their formation and evolution is of crucial significance. Radiolysis of matrix-isolated molecules at low temperatures is a common experimental approach for laboratory simulation in this field, because many metastable species could be trapped and characterized under these conditions. In this work we studied the radiation-induced behavior of systems, containing H2O, CO2 and N2O in different rare gas matrices with focus on the radiation-induced ionic species.
