Nowadays, our group pays particular attention to the non-crystalline gel-like supramolecular/coordination polymers which are one of the most promising families of “smart materials” since they could change (sometimes reversibly) their physical and/or chemical behavior under the action of an external stimuli – light, sound, chemicals, pH, temperature, share force, redox, magnetic field etc. We succeed in (serendipitous) synthesis of supramolecular gels based on substituted bispidinol tectons, terpyridine-like ligands and ortho-palladated benzylamines.
