The present invention discloses a method for prepg. chlorosilanes. This method includes using arom. amine hydrochloride as chlorinating agent, and chlorinating hydrogenated silane at room temp. and normal pressure under Lewis acid catalysis. The inventive method has mild reaction conditions, and smaller corrosion of chlorinating agent to the equipment. The catalyst does not contain heavy metals, so pollution of heavy metals is nonexistent, and the chlorinating agent after completion of the reaction can be recycled by introducing HCl gas.
