The purpose of this research - to identify the destruction of cognitive processes and memory in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and linking them with the relevant structures of the brain. To do this, the author's method was used "Microstructural analysis of oscillatory brain activity" (MAO), which is based on the pacemaker hypothesis of rhythmogenesis. MAO can detect a local activity in cortical and subcortical brain structures based on multichannel EEG and calculation of equivalent current dipoles narrowband frequency-selective generators extracted from the evoked potential. Coordinates of equivalent dipole frequency selective generators are translated into stereotactic coordinates of the human brain atlas [Talairach, Tournoux, 1988]. 11 patients (from Hospital, stage of the disease: 1 to 3 on the scale of Hoehn-Yahr and preparations of levodopa as initial monotherapy) solved the problem in the identification of semantic categories - visual words presented on a computer screen that allows check the safety of their generalizations and memory. The category of "animals" required to answer one button and two by clicking on the category of "things" and not react to the category of "actions." The data obtained in patients compared to the control group (10 patients). Patients with PD as well as the control group identificated categories - "animals" with a shorter latency period with respect to categories - " things ", which was confirmed by statistics. However, patients differ from the norm, more errors that arise during identifying categories - "animals". In addition, all patients showed the suppression of theta oscillations in the composition of evoked potentials when they solved the task to the identify the category. In 3 patients out of 11 theta rhythm completely was absent in the frequency range of 4-7 Hz and in 2 patients - in the range of 4-5 and 5-6 Hz. In the remaining patients, he was strongly suppressed. The powerful enhancement of theta activity is involved in the formation of categories in the normal group. Thus, it can be assumed that categorization mechanism in the normal group is easy forming for category "animals" and this mechanism is disturbed in PD patients. Using the method "Microstructural analysis of oscillatory brain activity" will allow to test this hypothesis.
