Аннотация:Increasing economic demand and the traditional respect attitude to knowledge and scholars gave a fantastic drive for development of modern Chinese higher education system and creating new moral principles that can be united by the notion “spirit ecology”.
The present study attempts to analyze the transformation of higher education in China in terms of the historical background, socioeconomic needs, political priorities, evolution of traditional values under the interaction of individual-society-state interests as well as the contradiction and mutual perception of global and local trends.
The development of modern education in China is considered in the context of social expectations aimed at restoring the glory and blossom of China.
A complex of problems that prevent to achieve harmony in the relations between nature and human society in China, one of the key values, traditional values, as well as the factors leading to the growth of social injustice, discrimination, the gap between elite and mass education are also in focus of this paper.
