Аннотация:Based on the analysis of theoretical models, we discuss the different mechanisms of suppression and enhancement of the TMR and GMR effects in spin-valve junctions of the form F-1/O/F-2 and F-1/F-2/S (where F's are ferromagnetic layers, O is an oxide spacer, and S is a superconductor). It is predicted that in the presence of magnetic impurities within the oxide barrier, due to resonant spin-dependent tunneling, the TMR of the F-1/O/F-2 junction may be larger than the TMR of the same structure without magnetic impurities. Using a two-band s-d model, we show that interfacial inter-band s-d scattering can substantially reduce the TMR magnitude even down to zero value. The influence of the Andreev reflection on the GMR of the F-1/F-2/S structure was studied. The GMR behaves differently in the ballistic and diffuse regimes. In the former case the GMR amplitude can be fairly large, whereas in the latter case it almost vanishes. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
