Аннотация:ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIACYTIC STOMATAL COMPLEXES IN LEAVES OF AJUGA REPTANS L. THE ROLE OF CELL SHAPE The development of diacytic stomatal complexes in leaves of Ajuga reptans involves two consecutive unequal cell divisions parallel to one another. However, stoma formation is possible only when adjacency of the guard cell mother cell equals 2 and its size does not exceed 30 mcm2. If such parameters are not achieved during two cell divisions, the type of development of a stomatal complex is the same but the process starts one again, as if being late by one cell division. As a consequence, a stomatal complex is supplemented with an additional (third) cell which is formed earlier than other cells of the complex.
