Light and scanning electron microscopy studies of pollen grains in genus Dryas reveal a uniformity of form, size and sculpture. Pollen grains of Dryas are tricolporate, ellipsoidal or spherical. The polar axis varies within the interval 21.0–31.9 μm; the equatorial diameter is 13.0–30.5 μm. Sculpture is striate with numerous rounded perforations between muri. Dryas is the only genus of the tribe Dryadeae that has the Rosaceae-striate pollen type.
