Аннотация:The pa per an a lyzes the re sults of the nu mer i cal ex per i ment aim ing at the re con struc tion of
cli mate of the pen ul ti mate (Eemian) inter gla cial (last inter gla cial, LIG) ob tained us ing the Earth sys tem
model de vel oped in the In sti tute of Nu mer i cal Math e mat ics of RAS. Or bital pa ram e ters were set with
the periodicity of one thousand years and were further in terpo lated with the time step of 100 years. As -
suming that during the LIG the con cen trations of green house gases were not very much differ ent from
the preindustrial val ues, this po ten tial forc ing was ne glected. The cli ma tic block of the ESM was called
ev ery 100 model years to follow changes in or bital forc ing. The sub-models of ice sheets were
asynchronously coupled to the sub-models of the at mo sphere and the ocean with the ra tio of model
years as 100 to 1. Ob tained anomaly (Eemian ver sus preindustrial) fields of surface air tem per a ture gener
ally corre spond to the re sults of the ear lier stud ies. Changes in the structure of the global at mo spheric
cir cu la tion re sulted in the trans for ma tion of the pre cip i ta tion field in some world re gions. In par tic u lar,
pre cip i ta tion growth in North Af rica was the rea son for the rad i cal change of land scapes.
