Аннотация:New ternary phosphates Ca9MnM(PO4)(7) (M = Li, Na, K), isostructural with beta -Ca-3(PO4)(2), were synthesized by the solid-phase method. The crystal structures of Ca9MnM(PO4)(7) were studied by the Rietveld method (space group R3c, Z= 6): a = 10.3554(2) Angstrom and c = 37.133(1) Angstrom for M = Li; a = 10.3764(2) Angstrom and c = 37.079(1) Angstrom for M = Na; a = 10.4179(2) Angstrom and c = 37.009(1) Angstrom for M = K. Calcium cations are distributed over three positions: M(1)O-8, M(2)O-8, and M(3)O-8. Manganese cations completely occupy one octahedral position M(5). Alkali-metal cations reside in the M(4)O-15 cavity extended along a threefold axis. The K+ cations have CN = 9, and Na+ cations have CN = 6. The Li+ cations actually have CN = 3 and a planar trigonal environment with Li-O = 2.31(1) Angstrom another six oxygen atoms are at Li-O distances of 3.17-3.31(4) Angstrom. Luminescence evidence shows that the crystal lattice of Ca9MnM(PO4)(7) samples contain, in addition to Mn2+ carions, trace amounts of Mn4+ cations.
