Аннотация:Impendance measurements were used to obtain the differential capacitance of an Al electrode with renewable surface as a function of potential in solutions of surface-inactive electrolytes in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and dimethylformamide (DMF). The regions of potential were established where the Al electrode can be regarded as ideally polarizable. The potentials of zero charge of the metals were determined, and found to be -1.75 V in DMSO and -2.05 V in DMF solutions (vs. sce). The relations between surface charge density and electrode potential were calculated, and the suggestion made that the interaction between Al and the solvents studied is chemisorptive.
