- Аннотация: Indian literature of New and Newest times developed under the influence of European literature. On the other hand, Indian ancient tradition and heritage, particularly translations of classical Sanskrit drama and poetry contributed largely to the coming into existence of modern literature.The two chosen novels can prove that Indian prose has its own national specifics, is addressed straight to the Indian reader, uses habitual, typical literary devices based on its own ancient or modern cultural traditions. Contemporary writers reconsider their past and life of their country to understand the life of the world and univers and represent it in a special, "Indian" way.
