Аннотация:The kinetics of the oxidation by ozone of some monomeric lignin models (phenol, pyrocatechol, 2,6-dimethoxyphenol, vanillin, vanillic acid, and ferulic acid) was studied. The stoichiometric coefficients of the reactions in aqueous solutions at various pH were determined. The consumption of ozone increased from 3-4 to 8-11 Mol O-3 per mole of phenol compound as pH increased from 1.5 to 8.0. The differences in the stoichiometric coefficient values between acid and alkaline solutions were explained by different reaction mechanisms and by very low reaction rates in acid solutions between ozone and saturated carboxylic acid aldehydes formed as intermediate products. The feasibility of controlling and optimizing the ozonolysis of phenols was demonstrated.
