Аннотация:The proposed "two-phase" model of the defect structure formed upon SPD is based on the existence of a statistical mixture of deformation fragments (DF-phase) and dynamically recrystallized grains (RG-phase). Using the TEM and EBSD (kernel approach) methods, the structural parameters (volume fraction and average size) of deformation fragments and recrystallized grains of alpha-Fe (bcc) and FeNi alloy (fcc solid solution) samples have been established as a function of the degree and conditions of deformation upon high-pressure torsion at room temperature. It was found that the volume fraction of deformation fragments abruptly increases in the range where the number of complete anvil revolutions N=1-2 and remains virtually unchanged at N > 2. It is suggested that the observed phenomenon is due to "dynamic equilibrium" between cyclically occurring "DF double left right arrow RG" structural transformations. The HV values calculated by the "two-phase" model are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental values for different materials and deformation conditions. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
