Аннотация:Monthly mean anomalies of velocity circulation in selected centers of action of the atmosphere (CAA) at pressure levels 200,500, and 850 hPa, 2 m and 850 hPa temperature anomalies, and precipitation anomalies have been calculated from the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data for the period from 1958 to 1997. Correlations have been found between circulation in atmospheric centers and precipitation and temperature anomalies averaged over CAA contours and at all points of the grid for the globe. It is shown that the velocity circulation along the CAA contours can be used as an indicator of temperature and precipitation anomalies if the contour lies in midlatitudes. In some cases, this circulation anomaly governs processes in fairly vast areas outside the CAA contour.
