Boundaries of existence of YAB in the system YAl3(B03)4-(K2Mo3010-Y20rB2o3) were defined by cooling the fluxed melt within the interval 1150-900°C. For the 20% fluxed melt, one can determine at least 3 more regions besides, the mono-mineralic region of crystallization (see fig.la) . Solvents with considerable amounts of B203 and Y203 were found to be useless. In the first case, stratification is observed in the fluxed melt within the two liquid phases: one is the molybdenum and the other enriched with boric-anhydride. YB03 formed with an excess of Y203 and with more than a 12.5 wt.% content of B203. The mono-mineralic region of the crystallization of YAB is expanded substantially with a decrease in content of YAB up to 17 wt.%. The saturation temperature of YAB decreases relatively with an increase in B203 concentration in the fluxed melt. It is less affected by an increase in the content of K-trimolybdate. Fluxed melts are quite different in their crystallization capabilities.
