Аннотация:The little-know Iranian endemic species Seseli elbursense was collected by the first author during fieldwork. It was described originally as Trachydium eriocarpum; however, mature fruits are unknown to date, and therefore its generic affiliation is ambiguous. Rechinger in Flora Iranica concluded that the species can be a member of the genus Platytaenia (now part of Semenovia). Our molecular study and comparison of morphological features confirm the opinion of Rechinger; we therefore transfer Seseli elbursense to the genus Semenovia, establishing a new combination, Semenovia eriocarpa.
