Аннотация:Resource-saving technologies are the basis of the transition to «green» economy, which is an important element of the energy sector. Environmental problems of the use of fossil fuels can be largely solved by the wider use of renewable energy sources. Due to the natural and socio-economic characteristics, the most popular renewable energy sources can be in areas of Siberia and the Far East for the purpose of independent power energy deficient regions remote from the Unified Energy System. For our country, are very diverse landscapes and climatic conditions, and the most promising emerging areas of renewable energy for many regions appear to solar and wind energy. These energy sources are characterized by a high potential and are already used in many of the existing power supply facilities in major cities and in remote rural areas centralized network. The article discusses the possibility of using satellite databases, GIS projects, interactive atlases and other sources to assess the resource potential of wind and solar energy. Data analysis showed that solar radiation data for solar energy, and wind potential calculations, design work face the problem of insufficient number of ground-based meteorological observations. For wind energy assessments and the design of wind turbines remains a significant problem the lack of data on the repeatability of wind speeds for wind energy at significant heights. Currently, these issues are resolved through active development of mathematical methods (including stochastic) modeling and the use of satellite monitoring of atmospheric conditions.
