Аннотация:The kinetics of carbon dioxide release during the interaction between ozone and an aqueous solution of formic acid in a bubble reactor is studied for the first time. A simple and effective way of determining carbon dioxide in a gas stream is developed. It is shown that the formation of 1 mole of CO2 corresponds to the consumption of ~2.4 moles of O3. The value of the true reaction rate constant of the O3 molecule with formate ion HCOO− is found (120 ± 15 L mol−1 s−1 at 20–21°C). It is confirmed that O3 does not interact with undissociated HCOOH molecules.
