Аннотация:The author, based on the method of semantic reconstruction developed by her, reconstructs names of various Samoyedic and Manchu-Tungusic peoples’ dwelling types for different periods of time and links these names to ethnographically and archaeologically attested facts. The choice of the particular language families is dictated by Manchu-Tungusic and Samoyedic peoples living in adjacent territories for a long time, in similar ecological and geographical conditions. In addition, the maximum temporal depth to which linguistic reconstruction can penetrate, that is, the time of the first disintegration of the proto-language of a family into different languages, practically coincides for these families; accordingly, one can assume the results obtained by reconstruction to be comparable.During the reconstruction process, original and borrowed words in both families were revealed; perhaps these facts correlate with the borrowed character of the respective types of dwellingKeywords: [Semantic reconstruction, dwellings. etymology, Samoyedic languages and peoples, Manchu-Tungusic languages and peoples].
