Аннотация:On February 3rd 1966, the Soviet spacecraft “Luna 9” made the first ever soft
landing on the lunar surface at the western edge of Oceanus Procellarum. This
successful experiment was the outcome of the vast effort of designers, engineers and
workers, whose hands created the spacecraft. In December 1961, then unknown chief
designer Sergei Pavlovich Korolev gathered the famous astronomers A. G. Masevich,
D. Y. Martynov, Yu. N. Lipsky, M. M. Kobrin, A. A. Mikhailov, N. P.Barabashov
and V. S. Troitskiy [1] in the Academy of Sciences to find out whether the surface of
our natural satellite, the Moon, was hard, or whether it was covered in a thick layer of
dust into which a spacecraft could sink.
